Breathless. July 2014 - 7 nights

We had a great time. Thanks for setting everything up. The only thing looking back on the trip that would have made the trip even better would have been going to other places off the resort. We didn't do any excursions because they seemed extremely over priced. Thanks again we truly enjoyed the trip!

We have been to countless resorts, fourteen in Mexico and many more in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, Costa Rica, Hawaii, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, Turks and Caicos, Antigua, Bermuda and Bahamas. This hands down was truly an unacceptable stretch of beach, murky water filled with seaweed and a few times dead fish that washed ashore half eaten by barracuda. The water is cleaner and more inviting in our neighboring beaches in the state of NJ. Dining- Our first evening we tried to dine at an a la carte restaurant, we decided on Mexican and had to wait for an hour and a half to be seated. The next few nights we couldn't even get in the restaurants and had to settle for the buffet or get in line at 5:20pm in the hopes of securing a reservation for 6pm or a later seating. The resort needs to change the reservation system! After our fourth night of frustration and disgust I spoke with the concierge Alejandra at guest services and she was able to set us up with reservations for our remaining three evenings, this was the only aspect that improved our stay. Lunch was extremely disappointing for it felt like forced buffets and burgers everyday, however we did dine in the main buffet, Casa del Mar two times which offered a better selection. The bathroom was very dirty and lacking toilet paper and near the ice cream area there was a strong odor of feces/urine, truly horrifying. Mike's cafe is a nice touch but needs to open earlier than 9:30 am, too late for early coffee drinkers. This is the first time we did not have a la carte dining options available for lunch.The resort should consider opening Route 66 for lunch. It would be a nice addition and break up the repetitive buffet routine. Also, the pool bar area is understaffed and the resort should add another bar on the property convenient to the beach. Entertainment- The teen center needs a complete revamp, unappealing in all aspects. Casino night had promise until we realized the dealers did not know how to play the games, staff should be trained for it. The main activity board was filled with options but we found many times the event did not take place as scheduled. I trusted Apple Vacations ratings and the many trip advisor reviews. I expected a decent property for the money we put forth. In hindsight I should have called you after day one to request a transfer to one of the Riu, Iberostar or Bahia properties. We made the most of enjoying our friends companionship for the week.

Hola Madelyn! Well we made it back safe n sound! We all had an enjoyable vacation.The boys were inseparable and had a blast. The adults enjoyed the relaxation and the unlimited beverages! Some were disappointed with the ocean water. That didn't bother us. I was in the ocean the most. The water was cloudy and very seaweedy. Also the ease of dinner reservations was sub par. But we made the best of it all and had a great time. We even came upon a "naked beach"! Too funny! Only 1 got sick and was of course my oldest who didn't want to go. Lol Thanks for all your help in planning this trip! Adios

Riu Palace Bavaro resort 5/31/14 - 7 nights

Not all trips live up to expectations, and this time it didn't for us. Seemed more of a drinking/party hotel with a number of loud, drunk guests until early morning hours and that is not what I go for on vacation for. Unfortunately, it was not a good vacation. My daughter and I both got food poisoning on Tues evening that lasted the rest of the trip and when we returned home and miss a day of work. Also, the hotel room walls were very thin and we had a problem with room next door with fights and violence between the couple and the desk did not respond to my calls for assistance. The beach was very nice, but I would not go to that resort or Dominican Republic again. Rooms were ok and food had great presentation and variety, but no taste and when I talked to others from US, that said they had the same problems with the food at other resorts in Punta Cana as well. The biggest disappointment was looking forward to relaxing from my stressful job, and I wasn't able to relax due to sickness and noise and lack of hotel employees that spoke any English that could help.

Now Larimar Resort - Punta Cana 6/6/14

Hi Madelyn, everything was fine! The resort was very clean and the staff was amazingly friendly and fun! Much smaller than the mega resort in Mexico we go too. The food was ok, but the drinks were never ending and not without sufficient alcohol. They had entertainment in the evenings that we attended. The beach had seagrass washing up, our resort was the only one that had full time workers raking it up. The boys liked it and we were able to spend some nice time together in the sun. Thanks for stepping in to make our last minute vacation changes happen!

Thank you so much for organizing everything! I really enjoyed myself and everything went very smoothly. Now Larimar was a beautiful resort! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. From the moment I checked in I felt like I was home. The food was great. While there we did cave diving, catamaran party boat, parasailing, and sail boating. We also all participated in all of the activities the resort had to offer. I really enjoyed my time and did not want to come home! Thank you for all your help and I will be using you again! Thanks!
